The first time I heard Hayden was the theme song to Steve Buscemi's movie Trees Lounge which he wrote/sang. I instantly set out to find out who it was and became a immediate fan. Over the last ten years Hayden, from Ontario, has consistantly released one good record after another. There isn't one I don't enjoy. He has another solid record out on Fat Possum Records. Go here to purchase his new record In Field & Town from Fat Possum and here for the rest of his catalog on Amazon.
Hayden and his band dropped by yesterday to play a great four song set, followed by an ice cream social. He plays at the Troubadour in LA tonight, then heads north up the coast. Here's the four tracks as they were broadcast live. Enjoy. -D

Another not-so secret show at the warehouse on a very hot summer night. A combination of giveaway with new record purchase and bloated guest lists had the space busting at the seams with dancing bodies. Britt and crew blasted through almost an hour and a half of crowd favorites, old and new. Here's a listen to the live broadcast from that night.
Setlist:
Eddie's Ragga, Don't Make Me An Easy Target, The Underdog, Stay Don't Go, Take A Walk, Chicago At Night, Don't You Evah, Someone Something, They Never Got You, Vittorio E, Quincy Punk Episode, Everything Hits At Once, Rhythm and Soul, My Mathematical Mind, You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb, The Beast And Dragon Adored, Black Like Me, Small Stakes, I Turn My Camera On, I Summon You

Los Angeles 4 piece Mezzanine Owls stopped by the Little Radio studio for a semi-acoustic set and a 12 pack of Tecate. We were taking a little time setting up for em and I swear they knocked the whole 12er back before the first song. Here's proof that alcohol can bring the art out in some people. They also have a seven inch/ep on Jaxart available here at insound.com.

Austin's The Octopus Project's sound walks a very nice path between noise and beauty. Yvonne's theramin work is memorizing and Josh and Toto's energy is exhausting. The Octopus Project have been named one of Rolling Stone's five stand out artists and have been nominated and/or win the Austin Music Awards in numerous categories the last few years.
Following a very long Coachella weekend where we took over Frank Sinatra's old house in Palm Springs with Anthem Magazine, they stopped in for a Monday night show. OP had played Coachella over the weekend after one of their fans entered them into a contest to play the festival. Best of all, they didn't even know about the contest till they won. They are great people and very unique musicians.
I'll work on the set list shortly. Right-Click Song Name to Download.

The first show I ever put on as Little Radio was at Club Fais Do-Do on Cinco de Mayo in 2004 with The Movies & Let's Go Sailing. (see my previous post about early little radio) Something like 20 people made their way down to Adams Blvd for $2 PBR's and margaritas. The show was broadcast live on the pirated 104.7 and Littleradio.com. This would mark the first live/full performance broadcast on Little Radio. Thanks to Jenny and Mo, who were there every week for these shows and cheers to my pals The Movies for being a part of history for Little Radio. As always, a great Movies show.
